Chandrayaan-3 is a planned third lunar exploration mission by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
It will consist of a lander and a rover similar to Chandrayaan-2, but would not have an orbiter.
The propulsion module will behave like a communications relay satellite. The lander will carry the rover to the lunar surface and deploy it.
The rover will carry out chemical analysis of the lunar surface. The mission is scheduled to be launched in July 2023.
The lander is named Vikram, after Vikram Sarabhai, the father of the Indian space program. The rover is named Pragyan, which means "wisdom" in Sanskrit.
