Gigi Hadid and her friend Leah Nicole McCarthy were arrested on July 10, 2023 in the Cayman Islands for possession of marijuana.
The two were traveling via private airplane and landed at the Owen Roberts International Airport General Aviation Terminal.
Authorities found some items that could be used for cannabis consumption in their luggage and suspected that they were importing cannabis into the country.
Gigi and Leah were arrested and taken to the Prisoner Detention Center. They were later released on bail after paying a $1,000 fine.
The two pleaded guilty to the charges in court on July 12, 2023. They were each fined $1,000 and ordered to pay court costs.
