4 Documents you must have to ride a motorcycle in India. According to the motor vehicle act, 4 documents are mandatory for you to keep with you while riding your motorcycle. If you have these documents then you don’t need to worry about the traffic police officer.

What is a RC copy or Registration certificate copy?

Rc copy or registration certificate is issued by Rto. RC copy contains the registration number of the vehicle along with all the details of the owner such as the name address model of the vehicle manufacturing date color and the engine and chassis number of the vehicle. An RC copy is valid for 15 years and can be renewed to the next 5 years after expiry. if you dint have an RC copy traffic police can fine up to 5000 rupees. The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, dictates that no person can drive a vehicle that does not have a valid registration certificate.

What is a Insurance Certificate?

An insurance certificate contains the policy no along with the owners’ name address and all the details about the vehicle. an insurance certificate should not be expired and according to the motor vehicle act owner must have at least third-party liability insurance compulsory. if you don’t have an insurance certificate with you traffic police can charge up to 2000 rupees.

3. Drivers licence

What is a Drivers licence?

A drivers licence is a document which is issued by the RTO office. A drivers licence is a must-have document while driving the motorcycle and it must not be expired. in general Drivers licence is valid for 20 years. if you don’t have a Drivers licence traffic police can fine you up to 5000 rupees.

The Pollution certificate is the fourth mandatory document which you should keep with you while riding the bike.

What is Pollution certificate or Emission Test Certificate?

You know motor vehicles cause a lot of pollution so there’s always emission norms are updated. A pollution certificate is issued by the transport department of the state. it costs you 50 rupees for a 6-month validity pollution certificate and 100 rupees for a 1-year validity certificate. if you don’t have the pollution certificate you can be fined from 5000 rupees to 10000 rupees.
